Overview
WordSearchEasy ("we", "our", "us") respects your family's privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your rights. By using WordSearchEasy, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
WordSearchEasy is designed to work on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your word lists, photos, puzzle results, or any personal information to our servers. Text recognition (reading a photographed word list), speech (reading words aloud), puzzle generation, and printing all run using Apple frameworks on the device itself. There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
Camera and Photos
If you choose to import a word list from a photo, the app asks for camera or photo library access. The image is processed on your device to recognise the words and is not uploaded anywhere. Pictures you add to individual words are stored only on your device.
Built-in Word List Pictures
The only network connection the app makes is to download illustrations for the built-in word lists from our public image repository (hosted on GitHub) the first time you view a list. These requests contain no personal information; the images are then cached on your device. If you are offline, the app works without pictures.
Local Storage
Your word lists, puzzle history, stars, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you use iCloud device backup (governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy) or you share a printed puzzle yourself. You can delete puzzle history at any time in Settings, and deleting the app removes everything.
Printing and Sharing
When you print or share a puzzle, the PDF is generated on your device and handed to AirPrint or the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is under your control.
In-App Purchases
WordSearchEasy offers an optional Premium subscription. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Analytics
We may use Apple's App Store aggregated, anonymised analytics to understand overall app usage and improve the product. This data cannot be used to identify you or your child.
Children's Privacy
WordSearchEasy is designed for parents to use together with their primary school children (approximate ages 5–12). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. All content stays on the device the app is installed on.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
